Manufactures styrene acrylic, pure acrylic and styrene butadiene latices for use in the paint, construction, carpet, textile, paper, adhesive, automotive and road industries, as well as acrylonitrile modified latex – a synthetic polymer known for its resistance to chemicals, oils and fuels.
In addition, SLC boasts a fully-fledged chemical toll manufacturing service, with the specialized equipment and know-how to manufacture a wide range of chemical products according to client needs; a purpose-built, 16,500m2 integrated warehousing center; safe and secure liquid bulk storage for non-hazardous and hazardous liquid chemicals; and a chemical packaging service to ensure that chemicals are stored correctly, avoid degradation and can be disposed of safely.

The Synthetic Latex Company (SLC) was founded in 1967, incorporating advanced latex manufacturing technologies from the UK.
Evolution Through Mergers: Our company merged with Sentrachem, which was acquired by Dow Chemicals in 1997. In 2003, a management buyout led to the formation of Karbochem Holdings, which included SLC and Karbochem (Pty) Lt.
Independence Achieved: In 2017, we celebrated our 50th anniversary and became a fully independent entity.
